Account Manager - Time Critical Cargo

Overview

Role Purpose

 

Reporting directly to the Head of Cargo (Germany), the Account Manager – Time Critical will be responsible for delivering revenue and profitability in line with agreed targets, whilst developing and managing key customer accounts across the Time Critical logistics sector.

 

The role focuses on providing tailored Time Critical solutions to both existing and prospective customers, supporting urgent and high-priority shipments across a variety of industries, including aerospace, automotive and maritime .

 

The successful candidate will operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and will demonstrate strong commercial awareness, proactive sales capability, strategic procurement skills, creative solution building, and exceptional customer service. The role requires the ability to respond rapidly to customer requirements whilst managing operational execution and maintaining strong supplier and client relationships.

 

This position is a hybrid role with an expectation of 3 days per week in our Cologne office with an on-call shift pattern.

Responsibilities

  • To promote and provide a full range of Time Critical logistics solutions including: Onboard Courier (OBC), Next Flight Out (NFO), Direct Drive / dedicated road transport and Full and part charter solutions
  • To grow and become an integral part of a dynamic and fast-paced team, delivering exceptional customer service to both existing and new customers
  • To increase Air Partner Cargo brand awareness with both customers and suppliers across the Time Critical and logistics sectors
  • To proactively identify and develop new business opportunities through market research, lead generation, networking, and direct customer engagement
  • To contact existing and prospective customers via telephone, video conferencing, and face-to-face meetings to build long-term business relationships in a highly competitive market
  • To represent Air Partner Cargo at exhibitions, conferences, trade events, and customer meetings
  • To ensure all enquiries and opportunities are accurately entered and regularly updated within the CRM system
  • To participate in the duty roster and out-of-hours support, often within pressured and time-sensitive operational situations
  • To work collaboratively with global Air Partner offices and operational teams to deliver effective Time Critical solutions worldwide

Qualifications

 

  • Previous experience within air freight forwarding is mandatory
  • Previous experience within Time Critical logistics, aerospace logistics, or a related sector is preferred
  • Strong understanding of the air cargo market, airline operations, and customer requirements within urgent logistics environments
  • Customer-focused with excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to identify opportunities and respond effectively within highly competitive commercial situations
  • Experience working within an international and multicultural business environment
  • A highly motivated, goal-driven individual who can work independently whilst also contributing strongly within a team environment
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
  • IT literate with the ability to quickly learn new systems and technology platforms
  • Numerate, organised, efficient, and accurate with strong attention to detail
  • Competitive, proactive, and driven to secure and grow business opportunities
  • Ability to remain calm and solutions-focused in rapidly changing and high-pressure situations
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to anticipate issues and take corrective action in a timely and professional manner
  • Must speak German and English fluently
